New Anfield Looking Good
Can't wait to see the real thing. But first, let me gather enough resources for a pilgrimage to Anfield before tearing it down please!

Well, I just got this picture from icLiverpool site and after close study and comparison, I think the pictures that were leaked few weeks back was indeed the exact design of the stadium.
The one below is the artist impression:

Then these were the ones leaked back in late June:

Yes, they are both the same, as pointed out by our reader, Nick. While searching for the interview with Rick Parry, I stumbled across this video and it was sort of like a tribute to Anfield. It's guaranteed tears and mucus after this video.
Indeed brings back a lot of memories, especially to the older generation. Enjoy!

Sorry for the late, late post. I wasn't at home but was excited to see the new design of Anfield. I know you've seen it but let's take a look at it again.

Wow man. JUST WOW! I was so afraid it's going to turn out like your typical prototype of a modern stadium that looks like a toilet bowl made of metal but this is what I'm talking about. This is what we deserve, after years planning and I'm sure Shankly will look down from above with a smile.
Moving out of Anfield will be an emotional one yet it was necessary to compete especially in terms of financial strength. ManYoo's Old Trafford is hitting 80k while Arsenal's Emirates is also a newly built and both clubs are earning much more than Liverpool in a long run.
Design wise, it's still pretty inconclusive at the moment because it doesn't look like the ones that were leaked a month back but I like the look of the Kop, which was supposed to be like a orchestra stage and the fear of the stands being too far away from the pitch is stamped out as it looked pretty much like Anfield's.
Anyway, more updates to follow include photos and videos. Now, I need to get some sleep so good night guys. I'm looking forward to the future!

Leaked on various forums, not sure if it's legal to upload it but better have a look before I get sued, anyway.
Excerpts from people who actually saw the stadium design, it actually fits the bill.
From This Is Anfield:
All four sides are said to be unique and different from another, one description used states “Whether intentional or not it seems to reflect the way British grounds have been built in the past, i.e. where stadiums would grow and modernise by developing one side at a time, reflecting the era they were built and creating a rather adhoc arrangement of styles. If this was the source of inspiration I think it has been very bold and clever.”What do you think of the new design, compared to the old one? Is it a little to over-sophisticated? Is it too bold and brazen? Is the checkered colours on the Kop making you feel sick?
Gillett and Hicks have already stated The Kop will be the focal point and hold 20,000 supporters. This is described as being a vast single tier stand which overlooks the rest of the stadium, particularly the opposite end which is said to be similar to the smaller end at Porto’s Drago Stadium.
Fans will be pleased to hear The Kop is somewhat similar to Dortmund’s Sudtribune, but rounding at the sides.

LIVERPOOL have given the go-ahead to form an official ‘Kop choir’ for the start of next season – as the new owners’ vision for the most famous stand in the world becomes clearer.
The plans to restore the unique atmosphere come as it’s revealed the Kop in the new stadium – which won’t now open until the 2010/11 season – will be an awesome 18,000 seater, single tier stand.
From next August, the Reds have agreed to set aside 1800 Kop tickets for the most vocal, passionate supporters in order to preserve the Anfield atmosphere.
In an unprecedented move, club officials have acted to create a specific ‘singing section’ of the famous terrace in a bid to ensure every home fixture replicates the volume of more high profile games.
However, the ECHO can confirm the new arena on Stanley Park definitely won’t be open in time for the start of the 2009-10 season as originally stated.Labels: Choir, George Gillett, Kop End, Liverpool, New Anfield, Tom Hicks

Good news, my fellow Liverpool fans. According to reports, new owner, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, have suspended the work of the new purposed Anfield and ordered a review of the plans.
Of course, it's not putting a stop on the project but rather, an increase of seatings at the stadium. That's what the reports choose to believe as it seemed like the most possible option.
To me, if they are really reviewing it to make New Anfield bigger, then it'll certainly be welcomed. Because I fear that 60,000 is NOT enough for Liverpool. Even Old Trafford is 70,000 and why should we have a smaller ground that the one we're looking to catch up with?
But realistically, it's impossible to build a mega stadium at Stanley Park due to the City Council and the space constraints. From what I understand, the space isn't very big and it's not possible to build a stadium that holds, let's say, 90,000. That's unrealistic.
It looked to me like they're increasing to around 70-75k and that's reasonable, considering the fact that there are 20-30 thousand fans still on the waiting list for season tickets, I think that number is the most realistic of all. Although that could also mean something...
New Anfield will be delayed for perhaps, a few years. To me, the better! Then I'll have a chance to visit Anfield before they move out. It's always my wish to go to Anfield for a pilgrim.
