Reina's Replacement Or Understudy?

Sampdoria goalkeeper Daniele Padelli will join Liverpool on a six-month loan deal, his agent has confirmed.

padelli

The Italy Under-21 goalkeeper will undergo a medical on Wednesday afternoon with the Reds before starting training under Rafael Benitez.

Agent Silvano Martina said: "Padelli will travel to Liverpool this afternoon.

"The clubs have agreed on a six-month loan deal and the player is excited at the prospect of playing for Liverpool."

Padelli, one of Italy's most promising goalkeepers, joined Serie B side Crotone on loan from Sampdoria in the summer with the aim of getting some first-team football under his belt.

However, the 21-year-old has merely served as an understudy to Salvatore Soviero, playing in just one league game.

Samp have cancelled the loan deal with Crotone which was set to run until June, and have accepted the offer made by the Premiership club.

Drogballs: With Jerzey Dudek a shadow of his former self (he has always been a shadow, just that now he is...more shadowy than before), Rafa is ready to bring in a new goalkeeper in this Italian kid and that might ALSO sound the end of Scott Carson's Liverpool career.

We have been having a fair share of English young goalkeepers in recent years but all didn't turn out well. Perhaps this Italian is brought in to be our second goalkeeper with Dudek or Carson leaving. Is it me or are Italian 'keepers good and reliable? Hopefully so.

I think that it's SAYONARA Dudek!
seriously, right now he is only good with saving penalties, other than that, he's useless, cya!
im not sure what will happen to Carson, well Charlton is letting in alot of goals, but u never know...
Padelli will most likely be Reina's understudy, and since hes only here on a loan deal, he wont stay here for more than 6 months, coz Carson's coming home...
Padelli's here just to provide adequate GK backup, u cant rely on Dudek anymore.. he's Liverpool's history..

I think Dudek himself knows his days are numbered. He said he was gutted and the only occasion where he conceded 6 goals was when he was really young and I think he has already surrendered. I still think Carson has a future at Liverpool or for my wishful thinking, Reina might be used as a pawn for the arrival of David Villa in the summer. Make Carson first choice and this Padelli as number 2.

Yea, I see Paulo Maldini in him. The deep stare. Looked like a clean version of Buffon as well.

hmmm, Reina or Villa, sorry, i choose Villa >.<
Simple reason, we keep finding good goalkeepers, im not worried, but a world class striker (although having 2 Under-21 GKs can be worrying)... now that's something every TOP TOP team needs, ManUre has 1 (i count Saha as half), Arsenal has 1, Chelski has 2, Barca has 1, Madrid has a handful, Valencia has Villa (hes not world class yet, but probably close, although im not sure)... We got 3/4 only(well Kuyt isnt exactly world class, but hes a superb all-rounded player, under Rafa's guidance, he would be 1 soon)
Our problem: MONEY...
but our problem isnt just our strikeforce, unfortunately...

I know we have always had a sucsession of slightly mad keepers
and Reina looks like he could be Rafa's baldy son, think we need someone who is a cross between Carson and Kirkland.
By the way, is Harry Fool still alive?

Yes, Harry is alive. Just that he isn't kicking because of his foot. heh
