Rise of the Mini-Reds, Big Match Previews

Mini-Reds win the Mini FA Cup

Congratulations Liverpool Youth team! You've done us proud by bringing home the FA Youth Cup with a 3-2 aggregate win over Manchester City. This is the first time in 10 years that the youth team brought home the trophy, since the days of Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and David Thompson. Signs of a things to come I believe. The youth team consists of a few local scousers and some Spanish import scouted by the man, Rafa Benitez. So the Youth team has done us proud. WILL THE OLDER LADS DO US PROUD TOO?

Preview 1: Liverpool vs Chelsea

Ah, the 10th meeting in only 2 seasons. Now both the team seemingly become England's number 1 rival due to the number of times they met each other, in the Premiership, League Cup Final, Champions League group stage and Semi-finals and now the FA Cup semi final. Familiarity brings contempt. We used to be the Liverpool that was behind Chelsea 30-odd points in the League. But because of the improvement Rafa has brought, we lessen the gap to around 12 points. Not that we could over-take them in terms of squad strength (and money), but I believe that the best falls too, like they did against who else but Liverpool in the CL semi-final, where they lost on a single debatable goal.

I hope 5 is always a lucky number for Liverpool. We won the European crown 5 times and won it on 25 / 05 / 05. This is the 5th meeting this season between this 2 teams. So i hope its fifth time lucky and we can go on to beat them, breaking all the history of us not winning them yada yada.

Coming to think of Liverpool's road to FA Cup glory, makes me feel that they more than deserve to win it. Why? Remember Luton? Remember ManYoo? Well trailing Luton 3-1 by 60mins is embarassing. But once again they showed character and bouncbackability and managed to win by 5-3 with THAT Alonso's goal from half the field. Then it was ManYoo. We lost to them in the League alrdy, and met them in the FA Cup quater-finals. The history is all against us. We've never beaten them in the competition for 85 bloody years! But the Crouch's goal decided it and we defied the history. History is meant to be changed, anyway. So i hope the duck would be broken. Tonight. See you at Old Toilet, blue scums.

with training like this....surely we would beat them? Haha!! Robbie showing Stevie some love.

Preview 2: Arseal vs Tottenham

Ah, the wonderful London rivals. Both fighting for 4th placing, Like Liverpool and Everton last season. As Thierry H. said, this is gonna be a war. I personally is looking forward to it, because usually when this 2 teams meet, goals there will be. Arsenal, always capable of playing entertaining football and Tottenham...not too bad, but should be worried about their reliance on Mido. Keane and Defoe are small sized, so they would play the ball on the ground, which suits Arsenal. Therefore i predict Arsenal would win it by 2 goals. Home advantage as well. Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham.

Good news or bad news tonight? Stay tune.....

Captain Obvious, Return of the Squirrel

Okay what about me. Went study + dinner with Alina den to icekimo to literally chill there and look at japoonese fashion magazines. Nothing else! But that dirty joke you told me......don't friend you already la! tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk! (*self-righteous look*)

Every Season, Same Story

Not content with annoying Liverpool over Stevie G, Real Madrid are now set to wind up Arsenal over Thierry H. With Henry's new contract at Arsenal still unsigned, a 'Real source' (although possibly not a real source) told The Sun "the door is open with Henry and that is why we are trying to persuade him." You'll see the same story again next year, same time, same players. If Henry really signs a contract with Arsenal, nevermind. It'll still happen. That I can bet with you!

9 Balls to Liverpool?
Thinking who's 9 balls right! Okay its Giuly. His chinese translation is "jiu li"..so 9 balls that is. ok lame. Okay anyway The Daily Mirror says Benitez is keen on a move for French midfielder Ludovic Giuly. Now we know what you're thinking - 'he's not Spanish' - but presumably as he's been playing for Barcelona, Rafa's willing to overlook that shortcoming.

Out? NO!
'Liam Ridgewell does not want to be part of the worst Aston Villa team to play in the Premiership.'

Sorry son, you can't leave now.HAHA!

Question of the Day
Does anyone else find it ironic that Sam Allardyce has hugely impressed the England selectors with his 'dietary expertise' at Bolton?

Talking JJ
Jermaine Jenas: I want it all, I want it all! Why not?!

Drogballs: Because you're not very good?

England's World Cup song Fracas
The new song from Embrace for the World Cup is coming out. And now we know why they can't win the WC. Below's the lyrics:
'With the world at your feet/ There's no one you can beat.'

Drogballs: Yeah not even Trinidad & Tobago!

Last but not Least...
'What's the difference between the squirrel and Spurs?

The squirrel has Champions League experience.'

CRACKS ME UP HAHA . ok its a massive update. So i'll be gone now good night people!

Playing The Game We Love...

Was too tired to blog last night, so left it to this morning. gah procastinating creatures! So yesterday night went NYP to play football with pals although firstly, im not from NYP..and i donno 90% of the people on the field. Haha 16-17 ppl on a rather small pitch..i shall not comment too much! Then went to wk's "final year project room". ya right! LAN shop in disguise more likely! played a few rounds of CS (oh those day!) then went for supper. and how do i end this...hmm walk home alone la!

Fact Of The Day: Scientologists
'Proud dad Tom Cruise last night said new baby daughter Suri was "gorgeous" - and praised fiancée Katie Holmes for giving birth in silence like a true Scientologist... Cruise stroked Katie's face and held her hand during the birth to help her stay silent in accordance with the wacky religion's guidelines. Katie, 27, managed to stifle her moans with the help of a pain-killing epidural injection. Cruise also ordered medical staff to stay silent, meaning the delivery nurses had to make hand signals to tell Katie when to push. The bizarre order was because Scientologists believe noise when a baby enters the world causes it suffering in later life' - The Sun. So are they gonna stop the baby from crying too? Good Lord!

You Can Start Laughing At Spurs (Watch This Space)
So the rather kiasu Tottenham will now launch a legal challenge to UEFA's rule of "Winners above 4th place" rule, when the winner of the Champions League will take over the place of the 4th place team. So now Arsenal is closer and closer to winning it, whereas 4th place currently is held by Tottenham, Arsenal's biggest rival! This could turn interesting if Arse really win it and Spurs hold on to 4th, that would be Arse going to CL next season and Spurs will play in uefa cup instead. So, Spurs, thinking that they surely would take the 4th place, requesting UEFA to change to rule. HAHA. fat hope Spurs! Liverpool suffered once, so I don't think they are that dumb to let the confusion run again. I think once the rule is set at the beginning of the season, it should stay throughout. Arsenal as we know, are fighting to win the Champions League crown. What would happen if you tell them now that, oh 4th place is going Champions League next season while you guys can rot at your Emirates stadium. Bollocks!

"Adidas pushing Shevchenko to Chelsea", "Abramovic pushing to sign Ronaldinho for Chelsea"

No wonder they dive. They're all pushed there! HAHA

More tonight!

Arse Down Yellow Submarine: Featuring The Fearsome Ref & Terrified Squirrel

Arsenal 1-0 Villarreal

Haha so Arsenal is one step into the finals of the CL. Congratulations on that. The match was actually made interesting by that squirrel that ran onto the pitch and got lost. Or maybe its delighting in the presence of so many human beings. haha so cute right! Not forgetting the referee, he's the very 'action' type of referee. What i mean is when he gives a yellowcard he'll do it with "conviction" an gave the Collina wide eyes look, making you feel that you really really DID fouled that player, swinging his arms 180 degrees with the yellowcard in hand.

Toure's first half effort was the only goal of the match. But as of a football match, there will always be controversies. Henry's goal, I must say, was ruled offside wrongly. He wasn't offside but the other dude (Ljungberg i think) was. Villarreal too, should have been rewarded a penalty. It was clear, but I guess the ref doesn't want to spoil Highbury's last night. Overall, Arsenal showed a little more entreprise in their play whereas countered the threat of Forlan and Riquelme well. But they really need to work on their crossings right. Most oftheir crosses end up on the other end of the pitch. Fantastic Fabregas had an off night as well. And they would be disappointed not to have taken a much bigger lead to the away leg next week, making it still quite an open game in my opinion.

Alright i'll be off to play some football tonight. So updates will be late! Drogballs signing off.

Home Sweet Home....Arse vs Submarine Preview

Half a day spent outside, returning home feels darn good. Went out in the evening to meet Chicken Rice Queen, Alina at Thomson. I was late as usual so she studied and this kind soul studied for her too. Haha some history stuff which I was kinda interested in! So it wasn't that bad after all. I learnt something and helped to do something. heh! next..prata house for..CHICKEN RICE. haha indian style fried chicken la..then went to mac to complete the history assignment and talk rubbish for abit. Then coincidentally, Jewell walked into mac. Oh suddenly it was like a primary school meeting. Oh how i miss those days! Ya so i'm home awaiting for the Champions League game at 2.30am.

Arsenal vs Villarreal

The last European tie at Highbury. I think Arsenal players would love to give Highbury a respectable goodbye and perform well tonight. The Villarreal centre-backs are doubtful therefore their defence are gonna be alittle shaky and the keeper, Viera is unavailable as well. A easy and comfortable 2-1 win for Arsenal. Watch out for Riquelme and Forlan.

I'll be back tomorrow! Good night people.

Random Thought Of The Day

Question: Who could kick the ball the furthest in Premiership history?

Actual Answer: Pellegrino. He side-footed a clearance out of Anfield last season!

My Answer: That Arsenal dutch winger few years back...Marc something...the ball went Over-Mars...

i'll get my coat...

Milan Undone By Ronnie Magic

Milan 0-1 Barcelona

Well, he didn't score the goal, but his 25 yards through ball for Giuly was world-class. He was kept really quiet for 60 or so minutes by Stam, but when he turned up the game, it was just a pure moment of magic from Ronaldinho. So I got my predictions wrong! It was Barca who is in pole position for the Champs League Final with the all important away goal. Other then being undone by Ronaldinho, they're undone by themselves really. They had 4 glorious chances but squadered them all, main culpirts are Gilardino, Shevchenko and Ambrosini. Almost all the Milan players lacked the drive and hunger except Kaka. Ah well 2nd leg will be next week and looks an interesting prospect.

Tonight's Arsenal's last European tie at Highbury, against Villarreal the Yellow Submarine. Best of luck, but watch out for their Riquelme, Forlan and Senna. Game on!

Laugh At Fergie If You Want....

So i'll quote what Sir Whisky Ferguson of ManU said before their game against Sunderland

"There won't be anything taken for granted but, frankly, I think we are playing too well to slip up. We're the form team in the league and the area in which we must now pay attention is improving our goal difference. At the moment we are eight goals behind Chelsea, so we might have to do something about that"

And then...ManU 0-0 Sunderland. Moral of the story. Even if its Sunderland, DONT THINK YOU CAN WIN THEM EASILY.

Anyway its AC Milan vs Barcelona tonight! What a cracking match its gonna be. It'll be Shevchenko vs Puyol, Gattuso vs Deco and Ronaldinho vs Nesta. It does look good on paper, but i think the first legs gonna be very tight. But my prediction would be one-nil to Milan. They're more stable overall and better at defence, not forgetting home ground advantage too.

Yep shall be back for updates tomorrow morning. So have a peaceful night and..for those staying up, enjoy!

MS Paint: Gary Cahill's 'Both-feet Off Ground Volley' And Round-Up

From Football365:

Milner lofted the ball into the box from the right flank and there was a scramble before Cahill leapt to volley past Maik Taylor in spectacular fashion.

Drogballs: What a stunning goal. He leaped with BOTH FEET off te ground and both his boots are as high as the defender's head, then volleyed the ball right above Taylor's head, with power and accuracy! What a promising player he's turning out to be.

Monday Night Results:
Chelsea 3-0 Everton
Tottenham 1-2 ManYoo
Boro 2-0 West Ham
Sunderland 1-4 Newcastle (Surprise!)
Charlton 2-1 Portsmouth
West Brom 0-0 Bolton

Feeling kinda gutted for Portsmouth! I want them to stay up, and they actually scored the first goal against Charlton. A beauty from D'Alessandro, outside box and top corner. But as we suspect, their defence is p*ss poor. ManYoo continued their defience as they beat Tottenham. The results means Chelsea need to wait another week to win the Premiership. And what a chance, when they meet ManYoo themselves next week at $$tamford Bridge.

Sunderland took the lead and looks like they're finally getting a home win, but instead got trounced 4-1. Poor o'Sunderland. They're now the only team in all European major competitions to NOT WIN A SINGLE HOME GAME. What a record to uphold...they're also officially the worst team in the Premiership, beating the RECOD THEY HELD THEMSELVES.

Alrighty i guess i'll update again tonight. Drogballs signing off.

'God' Rises To Help Pool Beat Blackburn Ruggers

An appropriate title eh? Liverpool's own 'God', Robbie Fowler rises above and helped Liverpool to secure at least a 3rd place in the Premiership and that means..Champions League football next season is guaranteed! It was quite controversial as some would say Cisse was in offside position when the ball went through him. Lucky he was smart enough to not touch the ball! Or i would be the first to kill that idiot..a 14million strikers mission 2 sitters is not acceptable. Sell him Rafa. But i would like to plead, GIVE FOWLER THE DAMN CONTRACT! He earnt it fair and square man.

Why should he be given the contract?
1. He's free, the only thing you need to pay is his wage, which I don't think is alot compared to MICHAEL OWEN.
2. He's a a master of finishing. Not only he can be an opton on the field, he could share his experience and skills to the other Pool strikers.
3. His love for the club, undoubtly. UNLIKE MICHAEL OWEN.

Anyway 3points in the bag yesterday was what we need. We might even sneak into 2nd place if ManYoo falters. Can't take out the possibilities, can you? Well..the first season in a decade to cross over the 70pts mark, Jose Reina beating Ray Clemence's record of conceding only 29 goals in 50 matches. Hyypia and Carragher immense yet again, Sissoko running like a mad dog and...Morientes doing eff all the whole match, except that certain assist.

Anyway HAPPY BELATED RESSURECTION SUNDAY AND HAPPY EASTER MONDAY! Welcome to the Coca Cola Championship Birmingham City! Soon you'll be joined by West Brom!
