Liverpool Flying 'Kuyt'

Dirk Kuyt To Sign In The Next 24 Hours?

Dirk Kuyt is expected to be a Liverpool player in time to make his debut against Sheffield United on Saturday.

The Dutchman has apparently made it clear to Feyenoord that he wants to move to Anfield and the club will either have to accept a player-exchange deal involving Jan Kromkamp or staggered payments if they stick steadfastly to their £10m asking price.

The Liverpool Echo seems certain that a deal will be done this week, despite Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder's continued interest.

Uhm, certainly not a big name like Shevchenko or van Nistelrooy, but Liverpool has never been a club that purchase over the odds and getting big stars in. Dirk Kuyt, my personal opinion of him during the World Cup is he did tried hard and was being played out of position. But doesn't seemed to impress me at all. But which star player actually performed during the World Cup?

The Dutch league seemed to have surplied some gems and duds over the years. For every van Nistelrooy, you have a Kezman. But if Rafa really thinks he's worth 10 million GBP, then fair enough, I'll reserve my judgement. But since the official website still hasn't confirm the news, we'll just wait.and.see. But of course we really need a striker now as we only have Fowler, Crouch, Bellamy and Sinama-Pongolle in that position. Signing Kuyt would mean that Crouch will have a competitor for the 'target-man' position. As Rafa always say, he needs possibilities and cver for every position. It's indeed nice to see 2 players covering for every position at the very least and this will keep players on their heels as they will know that there's another player waiting on the wings, waiting to deputise.
