Crouchinator Strikes Hat-Trick!

Haha yes you read it right. Peter Crouch of Liverpool has bagged a hat trick in an England shirt! Once he was boo-ed when coming on as a substitute in an England match few months back. Now he might just be England's hope! Fast becoming a cult hero becauseof his robot dance, he has silenced some critics with his excellent display against Hungary earlier this week. Today, he gave his best performance yet by scoring 3 and assisting 1.

E
ngland going into the game brimming with confidence after defeating Hungary 3-1 and would like to give Svennis a nice sent off as this will be his last game in charge of England in home soil. Interesting to note, Jamaica does have a pretty funky national anthem! Although it doesn't involve anythin with Sean Paul of course.

So, England started the game abit shakly as Rio 'Rubberlips' Ferdinand lost abit of concentraton (Surprise!!) and nearly gifted a goal to Jamaica. Luckily Terry and Carra are there to save the day! Anyway the match wore on and England began to stamp authority in the game and it was not long before Fat Frank Lumpard scored from a superb flick off Michael Owen. 1-0 England, and more to come. They're given a freekick on the left wing and Beckham in his usual superb form, floated an 'un-defendable' ball into the box and poor Taylor had to put it into his own net.

Peter Crouch, not wanting to be missing out in the goal bonanza, scored another in the 29th minute. Again a wonderful Beckham corner and Crouch coming in from the backpost took a flick off his shin and his superb technique paid off as one of the Jamaican RegaeBozz crashed the ball into the net. It did not took long before Owen, England's number 1 striker hit the back of the net himself. Owen beat the offside trap, latched onto Rio's long pass, rounded the keeper before slotting it into an empty net. Then the game went flat. England let their foot off the gas pedal and it continued even after the half time break. There was cause for concern as well, for England. John Terry and CAshely Cole were taken off for precautionary measure as they weren't feeling good and on comes Wayne Bridge and...Sol Campbell...

To be fair, Jamaica did gave England a run of their money as they exploited the spaces between the midfield and the defence and actually had a few good shots at the goal. If you think having Campbell on is bad enough, how about this. David 'Calamity' James coming on for Paul Robinson. Nevermind about that, the game went on and England still having their foot off the bloody pedal. But when Crouchinator decides to strike, NOBODY CAN STOP HIM!! Carragher found spaces down the right and had all the time in the world to cross the ball into the 6-yard box and there Crouch is, a simple tap in. It's 5-0 to England, and Crouch on a hat-trick.

But he blown his chance to make it 6-0 for England when Owen was tripped in the box and the referee controversially gave a penalty to England, who chose Crouch to take the penalty, because he's on a hat trick. He stepped up, and lifted the ball high above the goal! Trying to be funny and that was an unforgiveable mistake that is he tried to be too smart. Then Carrick, Downing and Lennon was given a run out as they replaced Becks and Stevie G, who had a quiet game due to his role in the defensive midfield.

Crouch got what he deserves in the 89th minute when he linked up well with Owen and his finish was exquisite. Downing found Owen in space and he laid the ball off nicely for Crouch, who took the shot first time and it ended up in the bottom corner of the net. Sadly, he didn't do the robot dance after the goal as he seemed a little humbled after the incident. Anyway a fantastic morale boosting win for England and a great sent off for the English team for the World Cup.

Drogballs' Player Rating:

Robinson (8) -
Proved to everyone why he's the England number 1 with a very good save during the 1st half. Solid overall, but played too little to judge.

Carragher (8) - Did his job well in the game. As solid and dependable as ever and assisted Crouchy's 2nd goal. But in my opinion, Gary Neville should be ahead of him because of his chemistry with Beckham.

Ashley Cole (7.5) - Had a pretty quiet game. I actually thought he looked a little off the pace as he didn't offer much on the left as much as he should. Taken off with a slight strain soon.

Terry (8) - Some vital interceptions and a towering presence. But still lack abit of concentration as he slipped a couple of times.

Rubberlips Ferdinand (7) - His early boo-boo nearly made England pay. He can be so good technically that he could through-pass from 40yards out but he can be so bad that loses concentration and how can you depend on him if England's playing Brazil or Argentina?

Beckham (9) - Joint man-of-the-match with Crouch for me. As usual he puts in wonderful crosses over and over again and you could see where the goals are gonna come from. The set-pieces. With this man on the field, every single ball that is launched is a threat and some are just magnificent. Hope he can take this form along with him to Germany instead of 'parachuting' it down the English channel.

Gerrard (7.5) - Had a really quiet game due to the fact that he had to play in the defensive midfield position. I'm sad to say we'll be missing his runs into the box this WC because he WILL be played in that position and not a rotation with Lampard anymore.

Lampard (7.5) - Started brightly, then as usual went missing. Scored a beautifully taken goal and passes the ball quite well. But second half he seemed to be anonymous and nowhere to be found. That's what I think..maybe he just didn't impress me enough.

Joe Cole (8.5) - When Pele say the only English player that could get into the Brazil team is Joe Cole, then you know he's something special. Well I agree. He's been very lively this 2 games, making runs down the left and also in the middle. His pace and trickery will cause alot of problems this coming WC.

Owen (8) - Taken his goal well and assisted Crouch's 3rd goal as well. Not as lively as he should be but credits to him, he just recovered from injury and therefore lacks abit of match fitness. The goal will surely boost his confidence and morale a little.

Crouchinator! (9) - Wanted to give him a 10. But why the hell did he missed that penalty? Nevermind that, just don't do it in the WC and i'll be pleased. Had a fantastic game really. Not only did he scored 3 goals, he set up another and generally showed lots of nice touches here and there. He might be tall, but his best assets are his 2 longlegs. BET ON HIM TO BE THE TOURNAMENT TOP SCORER!!

05/06 Top 15 Liverpool Goals: #4 Harry Kewell vs Tottenham Ho
tspur

This is the Harry Kewell we're wanting to see actually. Exquisite finish from extremely tight angle. And also it's the winning goal in that 1-0 win over Spurs.
